Honestly, I think Halloran should resign. How dare he even form his mouth to say the words “Give me a blow job Senator Cavanaugh.” He said that because he wanted to say it. It was beyond the pale. Pure aggression to read a rape scene out loud and put it like that. Broken brain.

It’s disgusting what Sen. Halloran did but it’s also disgusting that his Republican peers in the legislature didn’t stop him. I’m so very sorry to Sen. Cavanaugh and to Nebraskans who have experienced sexual assault. You deserve better from your state lawmakers.

He invoked both of our names at the start and then dropped the first name. Whichever one of us this assault was meant for does make it less horrific — though I believe it was directed at me. Men can also be victims of assault and his response is dismissive of that fact.

GOOD NEWS: Senators just failed to overcome a filibuster of a bill that would have removed a defense for teachers and librarians, potentially chilling age-appropriate instruction and access to information. #neleg

If this leaked decision is accurate, the Supreme Court failed to hold once and for all that every pregnant person has the basic right to emergency abortion care. This case will proceed and the health and lives of pregnant people across the country will continue to be at risk.

Today, the Supreme Court placed former President Trump above the law, granting him immunity for much of what he did in using his official power to resist the results of a free and fair election that he plainly lost. This decision sets a dangerous precedent.

Please share. I am looking for someone in Nebraska who was going to register to vote, but can't because that individual is a felon in the State of Nebraska. Please inbox me do not respond publicly.

FYI: Governor Gavin Newsom’s executive order does not strip unhoused people of constitutional protections. For example, cities are still constitutionally prohibited from seizing and destroying unhoused people's property without adequate due process or charging excessive fines. 🧵

This is devastating news for impacted Nebraskans, but it won't be the final word on abortion access or the rights of trans youth and their families in Nebraska. We’ll continue doing all we can to ensure that these decisions rest with Nebraskans, not the government.

Unless the courts step in, our state’s top elections official will stop thousands of Nebraskans from having a say in this November’s election. Together, alongside our three individual clients, Civic Nebraska, ACLU National and Faegre Drinker, we're proud to announce we're suing.

I hope everyone involved in the production of The Acolyte know how loved and appreciated this show is, and how excited lots of us were to see it continue

BREAKING: The Nebraska Supreme Court just ruled in our clients’ favor, deciding that Nebraskans with past felony convictions who have completed their sentences must be allowed to register to vote.
