.Blockstream Jade (both v1 and Plus) is not affected by the ESP32 Bluetooth CVE. The CVE refers to a debug interface that is not active on Jade v1 (including DIY builds) and does not exist at all in Jade Plus hardware. Continues below ↓

A quick note on RNG: Blockstream Jade is built with a layered approach to entropy. It draws randomness from multiple sources: User input CPU counters Temperature sensors Camera images Battery state Companion app Cryptographic hardware RNG Multiple entropy sources provide

Makes up claim that JPEGs in block chain increase nodes resources usage -> forks Bitcoin client to remove them from mempool (don't ask why) -> introduces memory leak -> actual increased resource usage -> blames JPEG

The whole point of removing the OP_Return limits is to encourage projects like Citrea who are publishing data in the UTXO set to publish data via OP_Returns instead. We're expecting it to be used. Mechanic #FixTheFilters #300kb knows this, and is just lying to you to advertise OCEAN.

OP_RETURN vs UTXO data. OP_RETURN: download and verify once, no UTXO entry, no disk space (can be removed in prune mode) UTXO data: lives „forever“ in the levelDB database which is accessed multiple time per second. Disk space always used. IMO the later is way worse.

Running a node is useful. But running a node is not very useful at preventing others from getting their transactions mined. Some people think running nodes can effectively censor others' transactions. Fortunately those people are wrong.

Samson Mow some of the bitVM related layer2 anchor projects seem to need 128bytes for some reason. the middle road would be 160 bytes say, rather than "no limit". during the 40 bytes is not enough debate there were 64 byte example uses, so 80 was chosen to leave space for a few extra bits.
