Nigerian lawyers will take briefs in areas they know nothing about, collect their fees first, then go and learn the law afterwards. Sometimes they pull off miracles. Sometimes they destroy the client’s case. Foreign lawyers? They won’t touch a brief they’re not already competent

Young lawyers should refuse to vote anybody who wants to buy their votes under the guise of paying their practising fees and NWLR subscription. Enough of monetisation of NBA politics. How are we different from people who collect rice, groundnut oil and money from APC and PDP

As a practising Nigerian lawyer 1. After court sittings, neither join a client in his car or pick a client with your car. You might think the case is not serious for you to be attacked, whereas it is more serious to the parties involved. Safety first. 2. You have no business at

I'll be 40 years old in few months. I have enjoyed some level of peace of mind over the years. I dont think I want to subject myself to the stress that comes with this ambition. I'll rather invest in young minds who are ready and willing to pursue it with all vigour.

The court's decision in this case is to the effect that; an alteration without express prescription in a legislation is inconsequential ... Especially where the altered provisions merely restated an existing position in the legislation.

S.233(1)of the 1999 Constitution, reads thusly- `` The Supreme Court shall have jurisdiction, to the exclusion of any other court of law in Nigeria, to hear and determine appeals from the Court of Appeal." The wordings of the constitutions are clear, "determine Appeals".

Our Judges are wise enough to know what constitutes injustice or what is a mere “internal party affair”. Don’t conflate the issues! Let my Lords rule. “The Law is what the Courts say it is” - Thomas Holmes
