The English and Linguistics Department welcomes this year’s Maya Angelou Book Award winner, Buki Papillon! Papillon will do a public reading on April 19 at 4:00 PM in Baldwin Hall Little Theatre. This event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Joseph Benevento, Dr. Priscilla Riggle, and Dr. Mary Shapiro have all been excellent professors during their time at Truman. Their retirement reception will take place on May 5 from 3:30-5:00 PM at the Ruth Towne Museum and Visitors Center. This event is free and open to all!

Congratulations to alumnus Cole Flottman (Cole “sick flips” D’beverage) for his acceptance into the PhD program at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa with full funding! He will teach Intro to Linguistics while working on language documentation of understudied and endangered languages.
