Help save this gallery, it offers so much for both students and art enthusiasts, I have had so much invaluable experience from working in this space, it had helped me and others to become a cut above the rest when it comes to working in a gallery space. #saveottergallery x.com/creativehists/…

Tiny books I'm really enjoying working in these small books I have been creating, it allows for abstract colour experimentation without feeling too precious about the page.

With all this sunshine it seemed appropriate to put those rays to some good use for making Cyanotypes or sun prints- this early form of photography began in the late 1800's and was even used to make an entire book full of plates by botanist Anna Atkins.

Sticking with our ammonite theme from yesterday, here's some recent fins of mine. They need a bit of a clean up and some preparatory but I think these are some of the best ammonites I've found so far. They are from the Gault Clay which makes them around 110 million years old!

More Fun with Cyanotypes, this print captures grass blowing in the wind on a bright summers day. The concept of capturing light from movement of living plants became a new way of making inspired by that afternoon.

A mysterious bone, A recent find from the north coast and approximately 35 Million years old (Eocene) I just now have the task of working out, from what?

Another snapshot from my recent Cyanotype printing afternoon, I am astonished but the level of detail the process is able to capture. I particularly enjoy the white in the centre of the feather showing its denser more opaque features. t

Enjoy another snapshot of the misery bone, if you didn't see the first post - this is a fossilised bone from the Eocene and is approximately 35 million years old.

A little look at a page in my sketchbook- this page is an inspiration for painting, the right page is currently a work in process in oil on canvass. I enjoy experimenting with colour using Manley crayons, although abstract these sketches still contain a notion of landscape.
