After a very long day which began around midnight, Tranby pupils have had an amazing day at #Pompeii and have seen the house of Caecilius who features in the Cambridge Latin course. Pupils dealt with airport delays well and behaviour has been impeccable. #Latin #Italy

The Tranby Classics trip pupils loved having a 'pizza the action' in Naples tonight. We made classic margaritas with tomato, mozzarella, and basil to represent the red, white, and green of the Italian flag 🇮🇹

Day 3 of the Tranby Classics trip to Italy. We visited #Herculaneum. We then visited Vesuvius. Pupils were on cloud nine - and then above it - when they trekked for 30 minutes to reach the summit and look down into the caldera

Visiting Hadrian's Villa was great fun and we're sure that if he was around today, Emperor Hadrian would have drunk safi ☕️ #sipsforthesoul

We visited Hadrian's Villa this morning before continuing onwards to Rome. After a quick baggage drop, we ventured around the Eternal City to Piazza Navona for ice cream, the Pantheon, and the Trevi Fountain. Tranby pupils were complimented on their excellent behaviour

Our MFL word of the day is the Portuguese 'Saudade' (say sow-dadj-eh in Brazilian Portuguese). One of the most beautiful words in the world, it symbolizes a mixture of emotions: longing, melancholy, incompleteness, and love. Saudade can apply to a person, place, or another time.

Pupils and staff from Tranby walked nearly 19km today to take in Circus Maximus, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Campadoglio, Pantheon and the River Tiber. We're all very tired now, but enjoyed our ice cream. Thank you DiverseSchoolTravel for arranging our trip!

Rome to Sorrento today via Hadrian's Villa in Tivoli. A maintenance issue at our hotel meant no hot food😲 so we used our plan B to have a takeaway pizza party to celebrate pupil Charlie's 12th birthday Buon compleanno! 🍰🎂🍕
