HUGE week! Our crews & rangers partnered with the USDA Forest Service & an ASL inclusion crew from CorpsTHAT & @ConservLegacy to clear over 300 trees from trails in the Cohutta #Wilderness! Thank you National Forest Fdn. & Turner Foundation, Inc. for making these projects a reality!

With support from the National Forest Fdn. & Turner Foundation, Inc., SAWS field crew & wilderness rangers worked with USDA Forest Service staff to turn a steep section of the Panther Creek Trail in Cohutta #Wilderness into a rock staircase. In 1 week, this group removed 18 trees & built 162 steps!
This week, our Smokies Crew wrapped up their two months in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This season was the first opportunity SAWS has had to help steward and maintain trails in a National Park. Here’s to a great season! GreatSmokyNPS National Park Service
