We must hold them accountable for their hypocrisy. It is politically convenient when the eyes of the world are watching to act with empathy. But to deny that same help to Americans in need is a shameful act of indifference. Senator Manchin needs to be held accountable.

American values cannot be so malleable and conveniently changeable. We should be principled in our care for others at home and abroad when we see people in need.
