Spring may be the season to crush your goals and bring new life to your habits, patterns and thoughts, but HOW you do it matters as much as why. Forming and reinforcing new habits is no easy feat and requires nurturing yourself. #buildinghabits #betteryou

You’ve probably heard of EQ or Emotional Intelligence, but did you know that working on it can have a powerful effect on our lives, our ability to nurture long-term relationships, success in school or to pursue meaningful work with a sense of purpose? --> ow.ly/aI7Q50IKmFV

Having expectations is what helps us feel disappointment, which can be a chance to change how we feel or allow it to dictate our behaviour. We need expectations. Our expectations drive us to do & be more, accomplish goals, fulfill potential, and become the person you want to be.

Life isn’t perfect, but it is what we make it. How do you want to create the life and world we want to live in? What do we need to let go to see that reality closer and closer? 🌱 What is one thing you need to let go of now in order to move on? #lifeiswhatyoumakeit

3 main types of empathy: 1/ Compassionate (empathizing through your grounded values) 2/ Emotional (feeling how someone else feels enough to aid and give) 3/ Cognitive Empathy (logically seeing perspectives in order to shift a situation or person) --> ow.ly/nVez50IKmQJ

The desire to protect yourself from painful or negative feelings and experiences are natural. However, when this protection turns to projection, there may be some self-exploration. #projection #learningaboutyourself

Vera Cheng 鄭慧欣 (she/her) (@veracheng17) 's Twitter Profile Photo

When projecting “unacceptable” or “unwanted” feelings, it keeps discomfort we may have about ourselves at bay and outside of our awareness. As a result, we shift our external attention and blame others rather than facing our flaws and shortcomings. --> instagram.com/p/Cb2selVsAv8/…

How can you become more mindful of your projections? Make time for self-reflection! This means viewing yourself with curiosity, not judgment. Look at your patterns and notice tendencies to blame others or assign negative qualities to others for things you may struggle to accept.

Admitting fault does not mean you are wrong! Instead, it means you are a complex human being who makes up many parts. For example, when you learn how to deal with unwanted feelings (rather than projecting them), you are equipped to respond rather than react to living consciously.

We can often find ourselves stuck when we get involved with emotionally immature people who don’t yet have the capacity and skills to be in a healthy relationship. 👉 Few things lead to more stress than being in an unhealthy relationship. --> ow.ly/leuH50IKnCY

Police responded to a mental health call in Toronto last night, took a 26-yr-old into custody, and now he's dead. Very few details. thestar.com/news/gta/2022/… A police-free mental health response pilot project is underway. I hope it succeeds and expands. google.com/amp/s/www.cbc.…

Reports of anti-Asian hate crimes appear to have gone down. It's not because there are fewer incidents, but rather, fewer people reporting them. Vera Cheng 鄭慧欣 (she/her) Register for OAMHP’s Dismantling Anti-Asian racism workshop: ow.ly/Objt50OEzxo linkedin.com/in/vera-cheng-…
