🇨🇦Chatty Cathy Cody🇨🇦 They are operating at a VERY reduced capacity. They are still providing abortions, though. We confirmed this with them last week before publishing.

The province of New Brunswick is currently being sued by the Canadian Civil Liberties Association for restricting abortion access in the province. The federal government should be suing, too.

We have a Premier who is in clear violation of the Canada Health Act, openly speaks at anti-choice rallies, and the federal govt only clawed back a measly sum from the Health transfer only to give the money back. No backbone to stand up to this man restricting abortion access.

I have to admit, the use of this photo of a now shuttered abortion clinic in my home town of Fredericton, after the federal govt did not lift a finger to save it once it was defunded by the province, (after repeatedly promising to save it during elections) is a bit insulting.

Finally…the reason the us does not have a robust left grassroots apparatus is maybe a little bit apathy but a lot of our own gov’t systematically murdering, imprisoning and discrediting multiple generations of activists…

What if instead of starting with “everyone is dumb for not voting” you began with “the majority of americans don’t want the terms of the right wing culture war so how do we mobilize each other to fight back every day in multiple spaces”

I was recently and briefly approached by the CBC to come on a national radio show on ER wait times. I painted a national portrait that was decidedly bleak and not very reassuring.

Despite protests, Metrolinx cut down a forest in Small’s Creek ravine — labelling around 205 trees “invasive.” But in the wake of climate change, are all invasive species harmful? Some are crucial to Toronto’s tree canopy, writes Steph Wong Ken: thenarwhal.ca/toronto-invasi…

'If our journalists are perceived as biased or if they engage in editorializing on social media, that can undercut the credibility of the entire newsroom.'

I am told the New York Times sent this reminder out to staff today. The language is from their social media guidelines.

I was just asked to be on The National to discuss Roe and abortion...and then I found out it would be a panel with a 'pro-life/anti-abortion' voice. I am livid and sent this reply. I couldn't care less if this means I will not be asked back to the CBC. It needed to be said.

Stop asking Trudeau/Singh to codify abortion rights into law. Instead, push them to hold provinces accountable for the fact that they are not providing adequate access.

Without access, there is no choice.
