Had a great time presenting on null / non-significant results in survey experiments to Samara Klar's Ph.D. class at University of Arizona! 😁 🚨If you teach a course on experiments in the Fall and would like me to present, feel free to email/DM me--I'd be happy to do it!

Everyone is wrong. You're all looking for other things that are *increasing*. But the real reason autism is increasing is because of something that's *decreasing*. And it's staring us all right in the face: Falling unemployment among Saudi Arabian youths.

Had a great time presenting in Dominik Stecuła's PhD class on null results in experiments. Thank you again, Dom! If anyone who teaches experiments would like me to present for a course in the Fall, just email or DM me--happy to do it! 😁

Do most people understand how inflation works? That drops in the inflation rate don't mean drops in prices? 🤔 No. And misunderstanding is significantly associated with vote choice in 2024. Thanks to Verasight and Peter K. Enns for letting me field this survey question 🙏

The 2024 Current Population Survey says there was a 10.9 point gap between the non-Hispanic White turnout rate (70.5%) and the Black turnout rate (59.6%). That's the largest turnout gap in a presidential year since 1992.

This is a good reminder about the important point raised by Justin Grimmer : when we look at the % of a group that voted for a party, we can see large shifts across elections. But a lot of that shift might be driven by changing turnout, not changing preferences for parties.

Did you know that your siblings can influence whether you vote? Well, now you do! Social scientists have long known that parents influence kids' political socialization. And we have some new evidence that the opposite occurs too--kids influence parents. But, we have little

Excited to share a new working paper with @SemraSevi and Don Green. We built a chatbot-based Voting Aid Application (VAA) using generative AI to help young voters in the US learn where parties stand on the issues they care most about. Does it work? Yes and no... Let’s dive in.

A look at partisanship in the U.S. right now--what partisans will tolerate, what they won't, and where the parties differ. (From an ongoing project with Ian Anson; n = ~1,100; graph made in Stata 😊)
