Abdel Razzaq Takriti عبدالرزاق التكريتي
This series on the history of 20th century Arab radicalism w/ Abdel Razzaq Takriti عبدالرزاق التكريتي and Daniel Denvir is extraordinary, even by The Dig's already sky-high standards. As a resource for political economy education, the whole podcast really is unmatched.
If you want to know one million times more about Middle East history than Hillary Clinton, listen to Thawra with Abdel Razzaq Takriti عبدالرزاق التكريتي thedigradio.com/Thawra/
Iraq's 1958 July Revolution overthrew imperialist-aligned Hashemite monarchy, bringing nationalist Abdul-Karim Qasim to power alongside a surging Communist Party. That story alongside discussion of Hanna Batatu's Old Social Classes in this new ep of Thawra thedigradio.com/podcast/thawra…
This reeks of desperation. As a scholar of liberal imperialism, I'm used to double speak (e.g. 'U.S. primacy = peace'). But calling an anti-genocide movement that, in Daniel Denvir's words, is 'one of the most Jewish mass movements in US history,' antisemitic is just brazen.
