Last night, I was thrilled to join many friends and colleagues at the Canada Truck Operators Association gala. Our federal government will continue our focus on growing opportunities, trade, and jobs to support the important work of our incredibly hard working trucking industry.

The CTOA held a very productive meeting with Minister Seamus O'Regan Jr & MPs Iqwinder S. Gaheer, Charles Sousa, Ruby Sahota, Sonia Sidhu. We are encouraged by the government's recognition of the importance of incorporated drivers & its continuing critical place in the industry.

Meeting representatives from the trucking industry, Minister Seamus O'Regan Jr was clear in his message: We will not stop the ability of drivers to incorporate. There will be a further effort from our government to inform drivers and companies of their rights and responsibilities.

On Sunday, community members & CTOA gathered to discuss rising concerns around crime, safety, and extortion targeting truckers. A new committee will be formed to work with gov’t on lasting solutions. Alongside the Dhadda family, a candlelight vigil honoured Harjit Singh Dhadda.
