Kinda pissed. I know "All About Me" assignments are popular. But asking my child what my job is, his Dad's & brother ISN'T about him. During this pandemic, unemployment hit me and his father. This insensitivity & invasion of privacy is a problem. #Covid_19 #backtoschool

For Hispanic Heritage Month, our kids researched Hispanic men and women who have made contributions to the world. I saw J. Lo, Justice Sotomayor, Rep Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Pablo Picasso. And then my eyes stopped on one that gave me goosebumps. “I’m writing about my mom...”

I watch this every morning for motivation. ❤️👨🏾‍🏫

Admin- This month, instead of doing walkthroughs, do tag outs. Go to a teacher’s classroom, take over, & send them to walkthrough the rooms of their peers. They will learn more from them than you. You will learn more from teaching than preaching.

It’s a book tasting day! Students chose multicultural texts to explore interesting characters and spark debatable ideas.

I use the stars of revision pretty often, it’s really helpful to focus kids on doing 1 or 2 stars when editing and 3 or 4 when revising.

I have a student who is uncomfortable with comments about his short, cropped hair. I let him keep his hoodie up—no questions.

Yall Serena Williams didn't become the GOAT because she tried something one time. She watches film, she plays in scrimages, she gets 1:1 coaching.. We have to provide our children multiple avenues for reading practice in order for them to be the GOAT! #tcrwp
