It is actually nuts that even when the NYC political establishment was presented with a broad field of talented candidates w/ many ideas, in a time of generational change & anti-corruption, they STILL chose to line up behind scandal-ridden Andrew Cuomo. It’s cowardice.

lets put the election aside for a moment. this is the NYC COMPTROLLER arguably the most important role in the city. He's asking for a warrant. They arrested him.

Brad has been helping New Yorkers safely exit for the past few weeks. He’s a citywide elected official. And one of the most calmest, most reasonable human beings. This arrest is an escalation and unwarranted.

It's simply beyond me how anyone can witness this state of affairs and believe the solution is another round of liberal incrementalism

Most don’t realize Brad Lander goes to immigration court to accompany immigrants because ICE agents wait in hallways and by elevators to detain those without lawyers. ICE operates in the shadows. But when most Americans see the reality of mass deportation, they don't support it.

this is just who Brad Lander is. Cuomo would NEVER put his neck out to help anyone. Vote accordingly.

incredibly proud today to work for Brad Lander. in 1989, he was at the marches to allow families like mine come to the United States as political refugees. he’s still putting his body on the line, 35 years later.

FWIW Brad Lander is the only mayoral candidate who risked giving up a safe seat to run because the stakes of an Adams/Cuomo mayoralty were too high. I desperately do not want to lose him as a citywide elected official during Trump 2.0

not usually one to agree w/ezra klein, but as a former brad staffer, this really captures what so many of us who’ve worked with him or know him feel. he’d be a truly exceptional mayor cause he’s always been deeply competent & very caring. yesterday was just a reminder of that.
