It was six years ago, and my mate, Pink, had just been told he was going to die. He accepted the news with a grace I can only marvel at, but he said he’d a list of things he’d still like to do. We sat in a pub one night and read it over. Eight things? Four months? Ok. Deal. 🧵

I wrote this Thursday, about the death of my sister last August. She had a living funeral, died at home, and we kept her body home for 3 days--a process that was soothing in the inevitable torment, and which I wish more people knew IS an option. ❤️ Advice for the Dying (a poem)

Thanks, Obama! In order to spite President Obama Wyoming GOP wrote into their state Constitution "each competent adult shall have the right to make his or her own health care decisions.” This insert is the reason why they can't pass an abortion ban.

Good morning. Abortion can be self-managed with pills sourced in your community. 1 mifepristone pill followed by 4 misoprostol pills 24-48 hours later OR 12 miso pills dissolved 4 at a time under the tongue every 3 hours. You don’t need to tell police what you took if they ask.

Hi future grad student. As I make my way out, I have a little bit of advice. Celebrate EVERYTHING. Celebrate being admitted. Celebrate coming up with a research question. Celebrate just being alive. Damn what the more stuck up folks of academia have to say.

"'Ha ha' and 'he he' signify laughter in Latin and in English, because they are cried out when laughing." Wonderful evidence here in Ælfric's Grammar that 'ha ha' has been the sound and spelling of laughter in English since at least the 11th century and the Old English period.

The amazing grave of the French inventor Charles Pigeon (1838-1915) in Cimetière du Montparnasse, Paris. Charles is shown in bed next to his dying - or dead - wife, who passed in 1909.

TB WAS raging! It killed around a third of all people in London. BUT WHAT IF I TOLD YOU: 1. Tuberculosis chic is still our beauty standard in much of the world. 2. TB killed about 200,000 people per year in Europe in the Victorian era. It killed about 1,600,000 people last year.
