Teachers aren’t allowed complain for fear of being labelled as negative, resistant to change or the worst one of all, selfish and not caring for kids. The hero myth of teachers is sometimes used to guilt them into sacrificing their time, money and mental health.

1 / 2: Hello #EduTwitter. A polite request please. Recently I encountered (and not for the first time) the use of the term ‘clientele’ when referring to students. While I feel that I might understand the use of this ... it has never sat well with me that students are ‘clients’.

2 / 2: #EduTwitter: I don’t believe we ought to view education as a business & that is how using this term makes me feel. If anyone can share any articles, books, etc. that sheds light on WHY this term is used by admin. Trying to learn something I might not know.

Went for a lovely 9-mile walk today: Along the way I: -watched a Bald Eagle -saw a nice family launching model rockets -passed a sweet tandem 🚲 -was chirped at by some angry Prairie Dogs. I did nothing to deserve this by the way. A beautiful #Colorado day.
