How Ireland is a rogue state contributed to the thieving of tax revenues here and abroad with downstream consequences for public services etc summed up in a short article irishtimes.com/business/agrib…

The government must not push through the CETA trade deal in January. This deal gives a free pass to corporations to further exploit workers and the environment. Keep pressure on your TDs and email them in relation to this issue!! #CETA Solidarity Socialist Party

KPMG taking €4.6m from #Debenhams pot: their own fees, legal fees, security, leases on the shops and hiring warehouses for removed stock. All these costs would have been minimised if a decent early settlement offer had been made. Ingrid Miley @suzannesherry4 madeline whelan

Liquidators KPMG spent €4.6m from the Debenhams liquidations pot - I challenged the Taoiseach on this today in the Dáil #IStandWithDebenhams Solidarity @@socialistparty

Let’s get #CloseSchools trending today. Many people won’t have a Xmas because govt fixated on schools open at all costs, even if it means ignoring rising cases. Schools should be closing Friday - period. Exposing children, workers to infection 4 days before Xmas day is reckless.

Speaking on #Debenhams just now Leo Varadkar said workers would b better off taking advice from union leaders rather than "these people", ie socialists. Union officials throughout d land no doubt had their hearts warmed by this endorsement from Ireland's most famous Thatcherite.

This is the minister of state for Employment who twice met #Debenhams workers. He misled them by not telling them govt had power to allow workers be first creditors but wasn't willing to. State took all the funds. These mainly women workers have been badly abused by FF,FG,GP govt

Sickened listening to religious orders & Archbishop on Drivetime RTE trying to make out they were fulfilling a need arising from an intolerant society that shunned and shamed pregnant unmarried women. No — you moulded that society. Stop the revisionism #motherandbabyhomes #dubw

So many jaw-dropping denials and euphemisms emerging from this Report. The vast majority of Irish people are so far beyond accepting a whitewash of what went on in #motherandbabyhomes

#Debenhams workers reject insult offer of courses by massive margin. 91% NO. Govt must heed this. Convert the €3m training fund into actual cash & legislate now to stop this happening again. Such resilience by the workers and shop stewards.

Agree. Making my way thru the Report and, while some very important information, the methodology and slant is concerning #motherandbabyhomes

“For much of the period ...women as a group & regardless of age or class were systematically discriminated against in relation to employment, family law & social welfare, solely because of their gender.” #Taoiseach today. That wasn’t down to society, that was FF or FG.

Still wading thru full #motherandbabyhomesreport. How can Report be taken seriously that puts forward: families are first to blame; mothers consented to adoption; work women did was fair; not much case for redress. Middle class, academic bias in recommendations must be called out

Three Bank of Ireland executives paid €1m+ last year. Is this the same bank that plans to shut 103 branches and make 1700 workers redundant?

All scientific knowledge is by right collectively owned by humanity as no advance is ever made without leaning on the work of countless others who have gone before. Every #Covid19 vaccine formula should be made public knowledge immediately.

Nationalize the #Beacon and the rest. The public health system must be undermined so that private healthcare can exist. People would never pay for private care if they could access quality and timely medical treatment in the public system. All healthcare should be public.
