Cladonia foliacea, not C. farinacea. I have dyslexia and lots of scientific names get scrambled in my head, and I retrieve the wrong ones; often with similar sounds. By the way, on looking again, I think P. tenella is P. adscendens- that's an ID mistake!!!

Cladonia coniocrea, on Witches Broom (prob. Taphrina betulina), on a Betula pendula, in a wet flush, in Ashdown Forest. C. coniocrea is common in the High Weald National Landscape on dead stumps & the stools of veteran coppiced Castanea sativa; never seen it on Witches Broom before. The British Lichen Society

It's always good to look in hollow stumps in ancient woodland. This stump at Cow Wood, an Natural England - Sussex and Kent Team SSSI north of NymansNT, was full of Beafsteak Fungus. Fistulina hepatica. We're Sussex. British Mycological Society

Bulgaria inquinans, Black Bulgar, in Cow Wood, NymansNT; a Natural England - Sussex and Kent Team SSSI. Looks like huge apothecia of a lichen without a thallus. The abundance of Lecanactis abietina on Quercus robur (only tested 3, all L. abietina; but some may have been Ioderma subabietinum) in the ancient Cow Wood, Handcross, was amazing. Most oaks had 1 side covered in Lecanactis or Ioderma; "shining" in the overcast day. The British Lichen Society

Very sensible for Marchantia polymorpha to get its brolly out in all the rain today. That is actually a archegoniophore; the outgrowth of a prothallium upon which female archegonia are borne. Handcross, West Sussex, pub car park. BBSBryology
