On Fergusson’s birthday, a passage fae his poem Hallow Fair, where he describes the brutal way the City Gaird kept the young boays under control in auld reekie. The Gaird was made up mainly by muckle Hielan men.

Congratulations to Riverbank Primary & Jackie Ross for their Scots Language award. Riverbank Primary’s Summer e Magic Scurry, written by the Primary 5F class at the school in Aberdeen, features a story about a naughty herring gull who takes the pupils on an adventure.
