First paper from my PhD, published today in Physical Review Fluids! Mixing, surface jets, Marangoni flow and more! Check it out at link.aps.org/doi/10.1103/Ph…. Open-access link to follow. [Continued]

I have put in about 60-70hrs over the past week handling the COVID19 crisis in my department. Today Queen Mary University of London demanded to know what dates I was on strike in March so they could dock my next pay packet. In the middle of a pandemic. Utterly ashamed to work at this university.

Great news from the engineers and medics at University of Oxford & King's College London #Oxford

Delighted to hear that Miguel Quetzeri has won first prize in the 19th ERCOFTAC Osborne Reynolds Day!! What an achievement! Congratulations Miguel! ercoftac.org/events/osborne… QMUL School of Engineering and Materials Science Engineering Science, Oxford Rafael Castrejon

Nice to see the paper with the last batch of experiments of my PhD with Rafael Castrejon and Oxford Fluid Dynamics Lab published Scientific Reports. In this paper we control the #splashing and #bouncing of impacting droplets with a dielectrowetting effect. Full paper 👉rdcu.be/cAzYY

Thrilled to hear that I am now Professor of Fluid Dynamics! Many thanks to all my colleagues, mentors, and students University of Oxford Engineering Science, Oxford Wadham College for their support and friendship over the years. wadham.ox.ac.uk/news/three-wad…

How does pool depth affect droplet impact dynamics? Newly published in Journal of Fluid Mechanics, led by Tom Sykes with Alfonso Castrejon-Pita Radu Cimpeanu Rafael Castrejon. For deep pools, the ejecta sheet remains separate and folds inwards, breaking up in the process... doi.org/10.1017/jfm.20…
