Voters in Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke may be interested to know that when their Liberal candidate was an MLA in Calgary, she considered it a part time job. 🧵

For my friends on Vancouver Island: Vote NDP to stop the Conservatives. These are all seats with NDP incumbents, yet what’s happening is that NDP voters are voting Liberal to try and stop the Conservatives, not know that they are actually helping them by splitting the vote.

To Jagmeet Singh You literally saved Canada from the horrors of a Poilievre government. You were insulted, ridiculed and even had your life threatened. You stood firm. You advanced the NDP agenda further with fewer seats than anyone imagined. Thank you for your service.

It's been the honour of my life to lead the NDP, and to represent the people of Burnaby Central. Congratulations to Prime Minister Carney, and to all the other leaders on a hard-fought campaign. I know this night is disappointing for New Democrats. 🧵

But we are only defeated when we believe those that tell us we can never dream of a better Canada. I've often spoken of a lesson my mother shared with me: the Sikh teaching of Chardi Kala. It means “rising spirits." Optimism over struggle. This is the spirit I carry tonight.

I am disappointed that we could not win more seats. But I am not disappointed in our movement. I am hopeful for our Party. I KNOW that we will always choose hope over fear.

We’re holding an independent commission to get answers, and so that people can feel safe coming together as a community this summer. We will ensure that organizers of festivals and celebrations get that information as soon as possible.

Whether it's energy, critical minerals, or our access to markets, BC is a core part of standing strong in the face of Trump’s threats. We're ready to work with the new federal government to do our part.

1 yr since Short Term Rental restrictions introduced we are seeing over 20,000 STR units registered in BC. Asking rents coming down. Vacancy rates going up. We’re prioritizing housing for ppl in our communities while we continue to welcome ppl to #beautifulBC

Let's continue to wrap our arms around the community and everyone left with a heavy burden, because in the darkest of times, the light of solidarity shines bright. #lapulapu

Today is Child and Youth Mental Health Day, recognized in BC as a day to raise awareness about youth and child mental wellness, mental health challenges, and the importance of early intervention and support.

John Rustad should know that you can't just ignore the rights of Indigenous people - he was the Minister of Reconciliation when those rights were confirmed in court. Working with First Nations doesn't stop projects, it gets them built. That's why industry is already doing it.

Today is #BCDairyDay at the Legislature, and we’re celebrating with a sweet treat from Rocky Point Ice Cream – an incredible ice cream shop from #Coquitlam! 🍦 Huge thanks to all the dairy farmers across our province who provide the quality dairy products we enjoy every day.

Yesterday the BC legislature we, in the house, had the honour to approve Motion 29, amending Tla'amin Nation Treaty, which included amendments to adoption, guardianship and child and family services, which formally enables Tla'amin Nation to exercise their rights. 1/2

Coming from the guy who hid in his office when we had a vote condemning Trumps policies. At least his colleagues had the guts to show up!

Today the premier called out racist comments by a former Conservative staffer, and Dallas Brodie just assumed he was referring to her. 😳
