A couple of days of decent seawatching this week produced our first #LeachsStormPetrel of autumn and 2 #SabinesGull + a rapid increase in the arrival of PbBrent Geese no doubt taking advantage of the north westerlies 💨 More news and photos on our blog hilbrebirdobs.blogspot.com/?m=1

Beautiful sky tonight looking west towards Moel Famau & N Wales from the front garden. Large numbers of Swallows moving south presumably to roost somewhere nearby

I can’t believe it’s the same bird as I’ve checked the pond opposite house several times a day. Green Sandpiper back, after going missing for a week, or a new bird?

A great 1st day on our annual Fair Isle trip. We’d just landed when news came through that the Tennesse Warbler found the previous day had just been refound! There’s history between me & this species so finally pleased to have caught up with this little gem.

Our 1st day on Fair Isle got even better when we found this Pec Sand in a flooded field. Initially picked up on call when it flew over our heads.

Another great day at Fair Isle Bird Obs superb weather but still the good birds are turning up. Barred Warbler & Sibe Stonechat new in & the Tennessee Warbler still hanging on (although elusive for most of the day)

Like the whole British and Irish Obs family, we are sadden and shocked to hear of the sudden passing of our old friend, Steve Wing, the long-time warden of the Cape Clear Bird Obs . A nicer man you would struggle to find and a real ambassador for Obs work. RIP Steve photo Shay Hunston.
