Enjoyed very much the @scienceirel We are now Research Ireland joint visit to Munster Technological University. Impressed by the diversity of research from arts and humanities to physics and photonics, from basic research to experimental development and innovation, and the interplay with Enterprise Ireland investments.

An important advance in collaborative research across these islands, in areas vital to a sustainable future. We hope to develop additional co-centres, and further strengthen North-South research collaboration, and co-operation with UK Research and Innovation

A very interesting IrishHumanities showcase event yesterday at Royal Irish Academy illustrating the diversity of research and research practices in the humanities, and exploring and expanding the notion of ‘impact’. Great to see so many @scienceirel and We are now Research Ireland colleagues there.

I 've stayed away from social media for over nine months, but 2025 is a fresh start. I'm really enjoying being back Maynooth University researching fundamental questions in the physiology of the control of breathing. I'm migrating to Bluesky, follow me there bsky.app/profile/philip…

A wonderful afternoon at the HypoxEU Connect event at the UCD Conway Institute: great talks from Cormac Taylor and Eoin Cummins on the cellular effects of hypoxia and hypercapnia, and from Dmitri Papkovsky on optical sensors for oxygen. Read more here: linkedin.com/posts/philip-n…
