1/ 43 yo woman w/ no PMH presents w/ acute onset aphasia and R sided weakness. Head CT is normal, and she is administered IV tPA. CTA reveals a distal M1 occlusion and MT is successful in reperfusion. Post-procedure she has mild WFD. A #continuumcase about #strokeintheyoung

In the INSPIRES trial, new stroke occurred in 7% of patients who received clopidogrel–aspirin and in 9% who received only aspirin up to 72 hours after atherothrombotic stroke. Bleeding incidence was low but higher with dual antiplatelet treatment. nej.md/47f7cy4
