I'm super proud to reveal something we've been working on for a long time: Our AI Risk Management System! Following developing industry standards for AI risk management, it allows you to identify, mitigate and report on the risks posed by AI systems. modulos.ai/press-releases…

I worked for Prime Focus Spectrograph project for five years, 2017-2022. From the clean room at LAM couple of years ago -> to now; all four spectral modules in place at Subaru Telescope Eng! Cant wait for the data to start flowing!

Three days w. the LINCC data analytics team (only a subset of us in the pic). You'll love what's cooking... Appetizers to be broadly served this spring.

Excited to hear a plenary talk from my colleague from my undergrad days, Ana Bonaca from Carnegie Observatories, talking about Milky Way streams and its implications on cosmology! #AAS243

Andrew Connolly describing what we are doing as part of LINCC-Frameworks to enable early science of NSF-DOE Rubin Observatory, with my personal favorites being TAPE and LSDB, enabling large-scale cross-matching and time analysis. Happy to work with anyone except University of Michigan. #AAS243

jax.jit will soon be able to tell you why a function is recompiling/retracing 🎉 This is a nice quality-of-life update when debugging JAX programs. Props to Matthew Johnson and Yash Katariya for the awesome log messages.

So happy to present, with Andy Tzanidakis, demo of our LSDB and TAPE software at Rare Gems in Big Data conference. Even if you are not attending, have a look how to crossmatch and do analytics on large amount of astronomy data: github.com/lincc-framewor… #raregems2024

I had a great time developing this with Floor Broekgaarden 💫, we're really hoping it can be useful for the community! Very fun seeing what a random conversation at Flatiron CCA can turn into 😁

We shall measure stellar brightness logarithmically, and it will be called the "magnitude." - Sir, will that logarithm be base 10, or based on Napier's constant? Neither. It shall be of the base of the fifth root of one hundred.

This night 102 years ago, Hubble discovered that there're stars outside our galaxy by observing a Cepheid variable star 1 million light years away Until barely a century ago, no human ever knew whether there was more than one galaxy in the Universe. Think about that!
