Loneliness and social isolation are sometimes thought to be similar, but are only mildly related (r=.21). Our study led by Natalie M. Yarish, PhD showed that loneliness and social isolation were both related to heart disease. Women with both had the highest risk. jamanetwork.com/journals/jaman…
