Ruth Drury educates us on microRNAs demonstrating that 4CMenB vaccination alters microRNA expression, which in turn is associated with post vaccination fever. Seems that these little ones might be ‘small but mighty’, playing a key role in regulating gene expression. #ESPID2019

Be aware-up to 60% of children with ADEM have high titres of MOG antibodies. We should be aware of, and test for this antibody in our ADEM patients. Learning from the renowned neurologist T.Amangue. #ESPID2019

How do we improve outcomes for children with HSVE? No data so far supporting the role of steroids but how about immunoglobulin use? #espid2024

Over 1/4 of cerebral malaria encephalopathy was associated with co-infection, mostly bacterial. Co-infections had much higher mortality rates. PCR diagnostics and MRI did well to differentiate between infection aetiologies, CRP didn't. ESPIDSociety #espid2024ambassador
