I wrote this month's column about Black chemists and the disparities that show up in the simple demographics of professional training in our field. ow.ly/Bsdx50A4hRu

I don't understand the world we live in where reduction potentials are written left to right but non IUPAC convention is so taboo

Travis Marshall-Roth's brilliant tetrapyridinic molecular model complex for Fe-N-C oxygen reduction catalysts is ⚡️OUT⚡️ at Nature Communications! Unlike pyrrolic macrocycles, this hexaazacyclophane displays ORR selectivity analogous to leading Fe-N-C materials! nature.com/articles/s4146…

Reviewers! please stop asking authors to have manuscript checked by a native English speaker. Keep it about the paper, not the identity of the author. It perpetuates the sense of bias felt by authors internationally and it makes assumptions about their background.

The President continues to support the cancelling of student debt to bring relief to students and families. Our team is reviewing whether there are any steps he can take through executive action and he would welcome the opportunity to sign a bill sent to him by Congress.

Electrochemistry is essential for making the material world, including the extraction of Li, B, F, Na, Ca, Al, Cl, Ni, Cu, Ga, Sr, In, Tl, Br, I + others. We can build on this foundation in electrified elemental extraction to electrify the downstream manufacturing of molecules.

I finally learned how to code in Matlab and i feel so powerful. (my engineer friends will still laugh at my code). Nevertheless, It really should be included within chemistry coursework
