We announced National Capturing Kids Hearts Showcase Nominees yesterday and it was amazing to watch schools across the nation celebrate this accomplishment. This is a year that needs celebration and these schools truly earned it !!!

Most great teachers didn’t start out that way! But... 1) They reflected on what worked and what didn’t. 2)They learned from their colleagues. 3) They always kept their focus on the students.

I'm comfortable giving the student who needed 4 attempts to master a skill the same grade as the student who only needed 1 attempt. 'If' a student learns is more important to me than 'when.'

Times get overwhelming when you begin to try to control the uncontrollable... Let go and let God!

Addressing the teacher shortage shouldn't involve lowering criteria to be a teacher--it should involve supporting teachers, paying them, and providing the resources needed to best serve students.
