A company asked why it was so hard to hire a good writer. I told them it was because good writing is an illusion: what people call good writing is actually good thinking, and of course good thinkers are rare.

If you are going to University in Africa, please DO NOT drop out of school. There’s a lot of privilege hidden behind this video, and if you don’t have it, please stay in school. This is terrible advice at best. Education has leveled the ground for so many people I know.

I know I'm late to this, but as someone who dropped out of school, all I can say is: Please get that degree. That paper is useful in ways you'll never understand until you desperately need it. Outlier stories are nice and all, but they are not the average person's story.

To understand how vital an education (& a qualification) is, read Piketty Capital. If you can’t or won’t, that should make the point. The other option is don’t wait till university to drop out. Just don’t show up at school at all & we see how u will pursue your dreams
