It was a such a great public lecture by Prof. Emily Levesque 🤓✨🔭📚 last night here in Santa Cruz. Honestly the most enjoyable I've ever seen. Such a pro. Interesting, fun, and funny! You should get her to your town, too!

How it started: Me hunched over my unix workstation cranking out many different kinds of atmosphere and interior models, all day and night.

How it's going: Proud of myself for remembering how to log into my machine, just now.

A clear day here in Santa Cruz! Heading for about 1/3rd coverage.

Me being slightly bummed that I never got my act together to plan an eclipse trip for family and me is mitigated by:
1) Me being sick with COVID, not allowing travel.
2) We surely would have gone to Texas.
Good luck to everyone trying to see it! We had fun in Wyoming in 2017.

If the sun really is as big and hot as liberal astronomers say, how could a little itty-bitty pair of glasses protect you from it?
