26-years ago today, DC Fire and EMS Department FF Louis Matthews (E26) and FF Anthony Phillips (E10) died in the line of duty during a fire in the 3100 blk of Cherry Rd, NE. This tragic incident continues to teach lessons to generations of fire service members. Learn, honor, & pass it on.

We can confirm that a 3D officer was stabbed in the head today in the 600 block of Florida Ave NW when he and other officers attempted to stop a suspect of theft from CVS. Injuries are NLT, however, laceration to his head is severe. Suspect arrested and charged.

Glad our members from T13 are safe. Thank you Mayor Muriel Bowser Council of DC for always funding our quality fire apparatus. We require stainless steel cab design for a reason. The stronger metal is safer in a collision, and today we learned it stops bullets too.
