Great to attend the Defra UK summer reception this week with both YHA England & Wales and ACRE hats on. Enjoyed speaking to Steve Reed MP about his enthusiasm for ensuring more young people access nature, and to Daniel Zeichner about issues facing rural communities

Great to see BBC Breakfast Nick Eardley visiting beautiful YHA Clun Mill yesterday to catch up on progress with YHA England & Wales network transition & franchise model, which is bringing new investment & entrepreneurialism into hostels while keeping them in the YHA network

Young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and girls are particularly affected by low life satisfaction. Through funded residentials and targeted programmes we're connecting young people to nature to improve wellbeing - vital in tackling this issue. bit.ly/4g1qFYz 🧵

Delighted to be delivering #GenGreen2 - a real highlight in challenging times for YHA England & Wales. Thanks to all outdoor education and protected landscape partners in the #AccessUnlimited coalition - bringing the vision of every child having a night under the stars one step closer.

Sarah is right - it’s a tough Budget for YHA England & Wales, the hostelling sector and charities generally, at a time when we’re still dealing with the aftermath of Covid, high inflation, the cost of living, and energy crises, and uncertainty of future funding programmes

Just fabulous to hear about children getting new experiences with YHA England & Wales These kids have been getting their first chance to build a den, paint a picture of a hill, even do some hostel gardening. Really simple stuff that many take for granted.

Great to share progress over the last year at the YHA England & Wales AGM 2024. Really enjoyed hearing from Helena Brothwell on YHA England & Wales helped unlock the power of the outdoors for young people by developing a feeling of belonging

YHA is proud to have been part of the campaign which led to the legislation establishing the National Parks 75 years ago today. We look forward to this Labour government's action to bring access to nature to more people and welcome their ongoing commitment to the National Parks🏞️
