Just a whole lot of HFC types right now who seem like they don't want to commit to the revolt unless there's a big group, but little in the way of coordination. Feels like a recipe for a very short fight or even a complete fizzle.

Here we go again. 1) Politici nejsou zaměstnanci. Někdo jejich platy určit musí. Nejde to udělat jinak než zákonem. Zákony schvalují poslanci a senátoři. 2) Dá se to ovšem udělat tak, že se to jednou i s nějakým mechanismem jasně stanoví a pak už do toho nebude NIKDO NIKDY

this reminds me of numbers from 2009, when Ds were way more popular than Rs. For instance, Gallup had Ds at 53% favorable and Rs at 34% favorable in May 2009. Didn't end up predicting anything about the 2010 midterm, FWIW

probably would not have thought Ds could win Senate at start of 2005, either. One thing that MAY may make it harder for the Ds now is partisan sorting has just narrowed the battleground and the Rs are now realizing their "natural" Senate advantage.

If Democrats can’t sweep Virginia this year like Genghis coming down from the steppe they should really pack it in. Absolutely THE state to be the “firing federal workers is bad” party and the Youngkin rebuttal has been soft.

Přestože se domnívám, že Elon Musk nehajloval, v tomto případě mnoho pochybností nemám. Mimo jiné proto, že Steve Bannon dlouhodobě zastává názory, které tomuto gestu odpovídají.

The time has come to start considering a broad coalition of willing for just peace in Ukraine. “Peace” on terms of the aggressor is called a capitulation and would only encourage all current and future aggressors. Free world must stand up to the evil.

Yes. MI-MN-NH being open does, I think, make them all possibly harder for Ds to defend. However, defending them as the out-party in a midterm should be easier than in other electoral contexts

In 2021 in similar circumstances, the Senate Republican minority successfully filibustered a Democratic CR ahead of a looming government shutdown and forced them to accept a clean one instead. What happened this week - a total cave on a totally partisan long-term funding bill -

To illustrate just how nonsensically these tariffs were calculated, take the example of Lesotho, one of the poorest countries in Africa with just $2.4 billion in annual GDP, which is being struck with a 50% tariff rate under the Trump plan, the highest rate among all countries on

The thing to understand about modern congressional politics is that the market/economic situation would have to deteriorate so significantly from where it is for the Republican controlled Hill to do anything to reverse Trump on tariffs. It's interesting trivia that a dozen or

Democrats had a discourse about members dying in their seats four years ago, when a near-death Alcee Hastings ran for reelection and left his seat vacant for most of a year. Nothing came of it. politico.com/news/2021/06/2…

Why Trump's eager for an immigration fight: His net approval is positive (+1 pt) & up like a rocket vs. term 1. Specific Approval: -54% for Trump's deportation program for those here illegally -51% of ICE searches Voters also say Dems have no clue on immigration (GOP +10).
