This is the most nature is healing article I've ever read. Sorry, but you'll never convince me the problem with a lot of things today isn't the phones. All these kids actually developed hobbies and interests in a matter of months. nymag.com/intelligencer/…

Roy Lee had his name on 11 movies in 2025, a rare accomplishment in modern Hollywood. The cloistered producer behind WEAPONS, THE LONG WALK, MINECRAFT sat down for a rare interview to talk about a psychic, bad execs and CALVIN & HOBBES. hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-f…

This reminds me of the Iowa shooting at the Physics department in 1991. Jo Ann Beard wrote an essay about the events, "The Fourth State of Matter," that remains, after nearly 30 years, one of the finest pieces I've ever read. newyorker.com/magazine/1996/…

My friends at the The Ringer asked me to write some words about Counting Crows in honor of the new documentary they just produced, and I gave them way more words (I'm sure) than they expected. theringer.com/2025/12/19/mus…

Watching my Steelers and can’t help but smile every time Logan Marshall-Green appears during the ad break, starring in the new Taylor Sheridan show. If there’s an underrated actor out there, it’s him.

The number of great on-location NYC scenes in RELAY is quite staggering. Which is something I dug about CAUGHT STEALING, too. Though the latter is worse and meaner. Felt like Aronofsky trying to do a 2010s programmer a la Wayne Kramer or Jaume Collet-Serra and falling short.

1408 has some neat moments. It needed more Tony Shalhoub and A LOT more Samuel L. Jackson. You see enough Stephen King movies where you know exactly where it’s going.

Look, there are many year-end best-of lists, but this is the only objectively accurate one. These ARE the ten (or so) best films of the year. thebulwark.com/p/the-ten-or-s…

This is an incredible story about secret high-stakes gambler Thomas Goldstein, by Jeffrey Toobin in The New York Times. Grab some Fritos & a Fresca and enjoy this thriller. nytimes.com/2025/12/28/mag…
