Avoid using the term midnight if it would create ambiguity about what day something is taking place, since some users’ understandings may vary. Is midnight Friday the end of Friday or the start? Instead: 11:59 p.m. Friday or 12:01 a.m. Saturday.

We have added an entry on AP Stylebook Online defining the terms neurodiversity, neurodivergent, neurodiverse and neurotypical. While use of these terms has become more common, to many they remain unfamiliar; they should be used only in direct quotes.
