A grant application to fund a 100% affordable development with 95 units barely passed with two Councilmembers abstaining because they were afraid to add a protected bike lane. That's unacceptable. Affordable housing and safe streets cannot wait another year. The time is now.

A grant application for 95 units of 100% affordable housing was almost killed because councilmembers were worried that an included bike lane would take away street parking. Median rent here is now $3,390 How high does it have to get before we treat this like the crisis it is?
