In what world is it ok to tear gas students for having tents up? Even if that’s against policy (and it’s not clear it even was) surely a fine or something would be more appropriate than arrest and tear gas? The needless violence and escalation is mind boggling.

UVA admin told students that camping tents on grounds violated policy. Then, they found out that camping tents on the grounds didn't violate policy. So, they changed the policy at 11:13am and had police enter grounds to enforce the new policy by noon.
