On behalf of Jean Kaseya the CEO of Africa CDC, I would like to thank Hon. Sylvia Masebo, Minister of Health of Zambia, for being such a great leader and champion for the recruitment, training, and deployment of 500 CHWs supported by Africa CDC in line with Dr Kaseya’s vision.

A top priority for us Africa CDC is maximising African buying power for medical products.  Rather than each country negotiating to buy its own medical supplies, if we can buy in bulk we can bring the financial clout of Africa to bear – meaning better prices and more bargaining

Had a great meeting with Director Beatrice Hamusomde, Director @comesa_lusaka. I assured her of Jean Kaseya CEO Africa CDC commitment to work with COMESA to expedite production of local manufacturing of medical products such as vaccines, diagnostics, therapeutics, and supplies.

Met with Director General Jean Kaseya and his team today. Africa CDC has a strong 5-year strategic plan and the U.S. supports their efforts to drive public health impact for the continent of Africa.
