I don’t often agree with Ted Cruz, but he’s right about this. The US government can’t force Jimmy Kimmel, or anyone else, off the air because they disagree with what he says. Clearly, FCC Chair Carr hasn’t read the Constitution. Kimmel should be reinstated. Carr should resign.

Do you know what reason did the Soviet Russia give to attack Poland in 1939? The same reason they gave to invade Ukraine in 2022: “To protect russian minorities.” It is also the same reason that the Nazis gave to invade Poland and other countries.

If this were discovered in a leaked email and published in the New York Times, it might get more attention. But Trump just tweets it out, and most people move on with their day. This is blatant corruption. Blatant weaponization. It is undeniably an impeachable offense.

Yes, insane, but this sounds just like his campaign speeches. Trump has been spouting this vindictive lunacy out in the open for years, normalizing it, and carrying it out at every opportunity since he returned to power. This isn’t an accidental post, but a designed message.

There’s no hiding the political retaliation and weaponization. It’s all out in the open.

This is a blatant attempt to corrupt our Constitution. It is exactly what our Founders warned about. Donald Trump is demanding that the Attorney General use OUR sovereign powers, OUR Department of Justice, to get HIS personal revenge. It’s wrong. Why? Here, the people rule.

Now is the right time to recognise a Palestinian State. We have taken this historic step to protect the viability of a two-state solution and to create a path towards lasting peace for the Israeli and Palestinian people.

The dire situation in the region has only worsened. The horrific scenes in Gaza, the illegal settlements in the West Bank and the actions of Hamas mean the prospect of a two-state solution is fading fast.

We are acting now, alongside Canada and Australia, as part of a wider international effort to support a pathway to peace and protect the equal rights of both Israeli and Palestinian people.

Our decision to recognise Palestine is firmly grounded in the Palestinian people’s inalienable right to self-determination, and the right of Palestinians and Israelis alike to live their lives in peace – free from violence and suffering.

We firmly believe that a two-state solution is the only path to justice for Palestinians and enduring security for Israelis. At the moment, neither of those exist. So it is our historic and moral responsibility to act.

So what's next?

Recognition is not enough on its own. We are also building consensus with leaders in the region and beyond around our Framework for Peace – a series of steps that can take us from a ceasefire to a permanent end to the conflict.

Recognition does not reward Hamas. Our demands on Hamas have not changed. It must release all hostages, agree to an immediate ceasefire, accept it will have no role in governing Gaza and commit to disarmament.

Our support for Israel's right to exist and the security of its people remains steadfast. But the Israeli government must change course – halt the offensive in Gaza, let humanitarian aid in and stop illegal settlement expansion in the West Bank.
