Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner has been accused of ignoring bereaved families of the Grenfell Tower fire after she told them that the block of flats would be demolished. The decision has been branded by some relatives and survivors as “disgraceful and unforgivable”.

Southwark Council - London's largest council landlord - has 50% of its homes without smoke alarms and 2,000 fire remedial issues outstanding. Utterly damning anywhere, but especially in the borough which lost six residents to the Lakanal House fire in 2009

92 months since our 72 loved ones were killed at Grenfell, 18 of them children. 92 months, still no justice. We await the Government’s response to the Phase 2 Recommendations. Every single one must be implemented as a legacy to those who died and to prevent another Grenfell.

Snap take from me on the inquiry recommendations response. Somehow both lightweight and overwhelmingly complex. Failure to take testing and certification into the public realm is a major miss:

🗣️ 'It's a carousel of delay.' Grenfell survivors waited seven years for a public inquiry to complete its work, and today they heard it could take another three to four years for its recommendations to take effect - with no guarantees those will even be implemented "in full".

The "Healthy Homes" Healthy Homes APPG who boast of their efforts for safe housing has finally done the right thing and ended their sponsorship with Saint-Gobain - the parent company of Celotex Insulation under investigation for their role in the fire.

Recent revelations about fire risk assessor Adam Kiziak have been making headlines. But we can now reveal government was warned about his work two years before he was removed from their official panel: insidehousing.co.uk/news/exclusive…

Today marks 93 months since 72 loved ones were taken from us. As we approach the 8 year anniversary, likely the last one where the Tower remains, it will become more important than ever to ensure Grenfell is not forgotten, and those responsible are held to account 💚

We are disappointed that the government has failed to legislate Hillsborough Law in its entirety, despite promising families it would be implemented by the anniversary. We stand united with the families, your fight is our fight 💚♥️ INQUEST Hillsborough Law Now #J4T97

We stand with Hillsborough families in demanding an all or nothing #HillsboroughLaw — no more cover-ups, no more denial, no more families left in the dark. Keir Starmer do the right thing and follow through on your promise. It is the bare minimum families deserve.

Today & always we remember the 97 innocent lives lost at Hillsborough. 36 years on & families are still fighting for justice. We stand with families calling for a full Hillsborough Law to fix our broken justice system. It has let us down for too long♥️💚 #HillsboroughLawNow
