A very interesting article on speed cameras and enforcement. Reducing speeds on all Irish roads would save lives and negate the need for campaigns to promote high viz: cbc.ca/news/world/spe…. Our roads are for all humans, not just those in motorised vehicles.

I'm sitting in Mallow station now for 15 mins and now told that it will be 22.15 before we depart for Killarney/Tralee. No explanation on the intercom & no forward info in Cork Kent. The sad aspect is that there are humans who will think to themselves, 'were they wearing high viz?': irishtimes.com/ireland/2025/1…. Humans in motorised vehicles are driving too fast. That is the core issue that needs to be addressed.

I've met plenty of people who use greenways for utility journeys (Dungarvan, Fenit, Abbeyfeale). Why are rural landowners always on the wrong side of history? You can be sure they'd have no issue taking the Euro for a road dedicated to motorised traffic.

This is a #greenway group on Facebook. You'd think, from the title, that it was created to promote the development of greenways all across Ireland. But it isn't. It is a small group of landowners who OPPOSE greenways and cycling. Please do not be fooled by their agenda.

The Inishowen Greenway is going to happen, no matter what a minority (and these people are a minority) has to say. This route will connect 13,000 schoolchildren (including Derry) to a safe route to travel: ireland-live.ie/news/donegal-l…. This is ESSENTIAL infrastructure.

It will be interesting to see how economic life in Limerick city is affected by this (positive) news: live95fm.ie/news/live95-ne…. Humans moving about by bike and on foot spend more than humans in vehicles. Limerick Council - Comhairle Luimnigh

WATCH: 25 km of new protected bike-lanes were launched in Berlin during the #coronavirus pandemic. They say the main investment was just paint, but the REAL key was being willing to rethink key decisions like where the car parking is. Via Dutch Cycling Embassy

I remember Parliament Street when it was suffocating with motorised traffic. Tell me that what we see in this tweet isn't better, and something that every Irish local authority should aspire to?
