You can use drawing for formative assessment in any subject. It often throws up misconceptions that are not otherwise obvious.

The arts are vital, they are a space for critical dialogue, to make our creative human expression visible, a space to imagine new possibilities, explore complex ideas & express our personal, social, cultural & plural identities, to make sense of the world & make meaning ❤️ #arts

Lots of interesting findings in this report. Too often, children and adults tell me they are not a "creative person." Creativity is a skill, and it can be developed.

One of my favourite projects Art GIS is the year 8 mask making. Students learn about cultural humility, research the mask making tradition in a chosen culture, and design a mask that explores their own identity. I love the diverse and personal outcomes created by our pupils.

Eisteddfod is such an incredible GIS event, a celebration of all things creative and collaborative. Singing, dancing, drama, mockumentaries, poetry, and artwork! So wonderful to see kids work together, be brave, and excel. Thank you, Philippe Delmotte, for making it happen.

A well-deserved award! Always one of my favourite London museums and was privileged to have my students work with the architects on the redevelopment project many moons ago. It is truly a place full of joy.

New year, new school but starting with an old classic. Love how creative, individual and skillful these illuminated initials are, allowing me to get to know year 7s as artists and individuals. #creativity

Just fed the text of a book—Student Assessment, co-authored with Nancy Frey and Doug Fisher—into Google's Notebook LM (HT Ethan Mollick) and it produced a ten-minute podcast as well as a list of FAQs and a study guide. As Ethan says, "Seriously, just listen": bit.ly/47EtlYf

Inspired by the IJADE #Peace @nsead conference yesterday. This quote lingers: "Without doubt, there is no empathy." Creative people accept and embrace uncertainty and doubt—perhaps this is exactly what the world (and twitter) needs. #IJADE2024 #Empathy #Creativity #EmbraceDoubt
