I am astonished at the number of people who loudly proclaim the opposite of what is true, such as that rules and routines are somehow not only bad for kids with ADHD and autism but possibly discriminatory. Rules and routines are an intervention to *help* neurodiverse kids.

This is a common slur on teachers. All we want to do is *control*. This is untrue. We seek to manage behaviour to create safe environments in which all children can learn. However, with community attitudes like this, it’s no wonder we’re short of teachers.

Kaels Greg Ashman Since when does Autism/ADHD mean you can’t track, or can’t follow rules? Asking for an autistic teacher/educator who has spent 18 years working with autistic and ADHD students… Take your preconceived notions and low expectations of people with a disability elsewhere please!
