Today, we wrote to the Board of Directors of The New York Times asking them to push management to reach an agreement on a contract that treats employees with fairness and respect, in line with the values by which the company claims to operate.
I'm thrilled NYT is so financially healthy it can do $400 MILLION in stock buybacks I'm horrified it's doing that while continuing a 2-year fight w/ NYTimesGuild over our demand for fair raises (we've had none since 2020) & a living wage for all workers nytimes.com/2023/02/08/bus…
Today’s The New York Times earnings report is a testament to the great work of our members — work done without a contract for nearly two years. How much longer will the company prioritize its investors over of its employees?
Today we took our NYTimesGuild testimonials to a place where they couldn't be ignored: the walls of the office. They were swiftly removed (within about an hour). Actions speak loud, and it says a lot that a news organization views our words as something they need to take down.

Members of NYTimesGuild have been without a contract for TWO YEARS. Most of our members haven't had a raise in THREE. Meanwhile, our executives have gotten millions of dollars in extra pay and bonuses. Don't think that's fair? Send a letter at this link: actionnetwork.org/letters/tell-t…
There aren’t enough #GuildStrong emojis to express how proud I am of NYTimesGuild for building the kind of solidarity that made this possible. Cause when we fight, we win. ✊🏾💪🏾⚖️🎉
The The New York Times violated core principles of our contract with its decision to shutter our Sports desk and replace it with The Athletic. We will not stand for the company’s brazen union-busting or its attempts to pit workers against each other. washingtonpost.com/sports/2023/07…
I'm baffled by @NYTimes's decision to eliminate our Sports desk & replace it with The Athletic, which is owned by NYT but isn't unionized. It's not just disrespectful—it's union-busting. I've joined 1,000+ of my colleagues to demand that management stop violating our contract ✊🏼
