One thing *always* missing from sniggering critiques of Liz Truss from the right-wing is the batshit praise & admiration showered on her & her ‘mini-budget’ by, off the top of my head, the Mail, the Telegraph, Farage, the Sun & of course the IEA. Most cheerleaders remain in post.

So many questions… — Has he cancelled his Netflix and given up booze and fags? — Has he adopted the 30p recipe book? — Has he trained as a doctor/nurse/care-worker/fuit-picker? — Has he considered charity work? — Has he had his benefits stopped for missing a Jobcentre meeting?

I guess even after living for 40 years in USA I must be naive to be shocked that for nearly half of voters, Trump's glaring derangement, disintegrating coherence, malignant abuse, daily lying, contempt for the constitution, passion for price-raising tariffs, dictator-appeasement,

As Kemi Badenoch calls for 50,000 civil servants to be arbitrarily thrown in jail, a reminder that she still hasn't been asked about the time she openly admitted hacking into a Labour MP's website, which was an offence carrying up to five years in prison

Am I the only one who doesn't understand why a primetime interview with former PM Boris Johnson - because of his book - was considered necessary by the BBC in the first place? That's the real issue here. Who the media gives a platform to & why/how matters bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

BBC interview with Johnson cancelled after interviewer Laura K sent him her briefing notes by mistake bit.ly/3TY6dyf but why are broadcasters falling over themselves to let this ex-PM, ex-MP, ex-Mayor and proven liar promote his book?

I see Boris Johnson’s new book is full of self-serving justifications of his behaviour during #Partygate. Please read this Guardian letter from 2022 - & never forgive, never forget that man’s reprehensible contempt for the people he governed 💔

What we know is that these two men have 17 children with 6 different women but it’s women’s bodies that need to be controlled!

I repeat. The UK did not have the fastest Covid vaccine rollout. And we didn’t need to leave the EU to approve the vaccine. Indeed we were still in it when we did! Please could journalists correct Johnson’s lies?

Farrukh Had the Government reacted to covid earlier with precautions such as masks, social distancing, etc, as other countries, the lock-downs could have been delayed and possibly even avoided Allowing Cheltenham races to run was the kind of stupidity they indulged in! He's a moron!

Here's Chris Mason again explaining "Why all of this matters" regarding #SueGray. A shame that these "investigative journalists" have only found their desire to investigate under a Labour Government. Where were they under Johnson, Truss & Sunak? BBC News (UK)

Looks like a newspaper owned by the Fourth Lord Rothermere, who inherited it from the Third Lord Rothermere, who inherited it from the Second Lord Rothermere, who inherited it from the First Lord Rothermere, is bitterly opposed to Labour's plans for inheritance tax

Robert Jenrick says Labour are wrong to release prisoners early. Jenrick was part of the Conservative Government that released prisoners early and left the prison estate so overcrowded and under resourced that prisoners had to be released early. He must think we’re all idiots.

"I have the most sympathy with the incoming government on this." Prisoner early release was due to a "Conservative failure" that has left the Labour government with no choice but to "let some out", says former Conservative leader William Hague.

It isn’t new for Labour (and Tory!) activists to volunteer in US elections - they do it every time. Trump campaign’s decision to weaponise probably shouldn’t come as a surprise. But *if* it’s an issue for Labour, then isn’t it also one for eg Nigel Farage & Liz Truss?
