We are concerned for our members who may need immediate help, lack local trust support, or have confidentiality concerns.

I fear for others who will no longer have access to their care

Very concerned about the impact of this. NHS Practitioner Health have provided an amazing service over the last 10 years. Doctors kept in work, doctors returned to work. Careers and lives saved. We, as a committee, continue to strongly advocate for anaesthetists in training the UK.

Our voice has been strong on this topic, and hopefully you can hear it in this statement.

The Association of Anaesthetists recognises the importance of progressing the careers of SAS and locally-employed Anaesthetists.

Until every doctor working in Anaesthesia has the opportunity to reach their potential as a senior, independent colleague, we still have work to do.

Over the past year, there have been many developments in how both Government and the profession view the role of Anaesthesia Associates.
