Just watched a presentation on the Apple /// at KFest, and it was notable that the software preservation situation is pretty dire. Pirates didn't care about the ///, so software didn't get cracked and copied, so the original disks are ticking time bombs of magnetic bit rot. \

Very recently, some new hardware has allowed direct imaging of copy protected apple discs, including for the ///. If you happen to know where there might be a box of Apple /// disks, now would be a great time to dig them out. Jason Scott can help with getting them imaged.
