We can't eliminate fossil fuels overnight ... therefore ... we must expand fossil fuel extraction & continue using fossil fuels indefinitely.

You rarely see this (il)logic stated baldly, but it underlies a great deal of public discourse.

I think the best thing about a solar eclipse is that it should remind us that we live on a planet and we should care for that planet because there are forces a lot bigger than us that should cause us to reflect with awe and reverence, and the other best part is the eclipse jokes

Six months on, the Israeli military campaign has brought relentless death & destruction to Gaza.

Lives shattered. Children dying for lack of food & water.

This is incomprehensible & entirely avoidable.

Nothing can justify the collective punishment of the Palestinian people.

I am deeply troubled by reports that the Israeli military’s bombing campaign includes AI as a tool in the identification of targets, resulting in a high level of civilian casualties.

AI should be used as a force for good to benefit the world; not to contribute to waging war on…
